Claire Smith - Matwork Pilates Instructor

I discovered Pilates 20 years ago and watched in amazement how the practice improved athletic performance. Determined to share this with the athletic world, I trained in a Diploma of Contemporary Pilates and went on to start a Pilates Studio on the Sunshine Coast. During this time I was blessed to work with aged clients and found my true love of Pilates, helping everyday people to manage their pain and improve their quality of life.

My class is an integrated Pilates mat class for all levels of fitness and experience. Walk out feeling longer and stronger with a smile on your face.

Kathy Ellem Yoga teacher

Kathy found yoga in her early twenties when she was teaching ballet. Her first yoga class blew her mind, but it was only after children and a few career changes, she finally fully embraced her love of the practice in earnest. Her practice led her to Shri Yoga where she completed her 200hr teacher training in 2017 with Julie Smerdon, learning the principles and philosophy of Anusara yoga. Kathy and her partner moved to Dalveen in December 2020 as part of a tree change. She is enjoying her animals on the farm and the sense of community her new life offers, including how welcoming and friendly everyone is at Yoga Tree Stanthorpe.

Helen Ferrier Mallow Wellbeing Guest Teacher

Helen supports our community through her Mindfulness based stress reduction 8 week courses. Helen has applied her discernment and considered discipline to understanding the heart of that which allows people to thrive - living in presence with curiosity, acceptance and gratitude. Her program is currently supported by the PHN which provides accessibility to these evidence-based practices to the Granite Belt community.

Luci Hollingsworth Yoga Teacher

I was introduced to Yoga by my mum as a little tike. Over the years it
has bloomed into an essential part of my daily life to manage stress
and chronic illness/pain and became something I could share with
friends and communities around the world. After working as a teacher
in Refugee Camps in Greece and Remote Indigenous communities, I am
particularly interested in the incredible health benefits Yoga can
play in processing trauma and healing/managing chronic pain.

I finally completed my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training with Santosha
Yoga Institute in Bali in 2023 and continue to study Pre/Post Natal
Yoga through Santosha.

On top of Yoga, I love pottering around the garden, cooking up feasts
for friends and family and heading out for bush walks.

Kelly Jurd Yoga Teacher

I went to my first yoga class at age 16 and there I found my love of Yoga, loving the sense of calm that it gave me.

I have continued to practice Yoga throughout my life on and off from then on.

I completed my RYT-200 hr teaching through Santosha Yoga Institute in 2022, where I learnt Hatha and Vinyasa style yoga and the principles and philosophies drawn from the Sri T Krishnamacharya lineage.

I am currently working on my 50hr Yin Yoga training through Santosha Yoga Institute.

I am excited to be starting my yoga teacher journey at Yoga Tree Stanthorpe and I look forward to exploring different styles of yoga with my students.
